Perch Place Consulting along with its partners: SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Building Blocks, Dolgeville Central School District, NYS Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE), and NYS Qualitystars held the 5th Summit For Early Educators on March 14, 2025.
Dr. Joanne Joseph, Professor of Psychology and Community and Behavioral Health at SUNY Poly, and Perch Place Owner and President, Robin Robinson welcomed 150 early educators to the Student Center. This year’s event included Headliner Heidi Allen. The Camden CSD McConnellsville Elementary School principal presented on “Healing Hearts, Nurturing Minds: Unveiling Strategies to Address Trauma and ACEs in Early Childhood Education.” The summit’s second headliner was from Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE) Olivia Sebastian and Kelly Lanckton. Their “Make and Take” included Tools and Activities Geared for Success in the classroom. Following their direction and demonstrations, participants were able to gather supplies and take a material bag of strategies back to school with them. Additionally, Perch Place staff presented on Mindfulness, Strategic Transitions, Two and Three-year-old Student Programs, and Relation-Building activities. The participant reviews were “great training,” “Excellent selection of presenters and tools,” “Awesome job as always,” “Loved the Mystery Box”, “This was great!” and “I enjoyed learning some very new and helpful information.”
